Toy Cars and Hershey Bars

While at USC, Jordan produced a reading of her play, Fledged, a true story based on the life of her mother. The play follows Tiernan, an aspiring ballerina whose life begins to unravel after breaking her ankle in gym class. With a brother drinking his way through Eagle Scouts, a military father trying to keep his faith and a mother losing her memory, Tiernan is forced to discover who she is and who she will become.

Toy Cars and Hershey Bars examines the daily life of a family living with their twenty-one year old autistic son, Jude. In an honest exploration of the utter magic that is the autism spectrum, we see that Jude is not defined by his inadequacies, but by his guileless, resilient and tender spirit.
